Technology IntegrationIn the modern day classroom there has been a huge shift in how the majority of our curricula is presented. Now, curricula is now more easily accessible due to the material being available online, teachers teaching classes online and multiple classes at once without actually having to be present in the classroom, and there are more methods to which information can be presented in the classroom. With this technological shift and since the viability of information and learning materials is no longer limited to print and local libraries, it is essential that our educators become familiar with integration of technology in the classrooms. The importance of online learning and the need for increased integration of technology for the modern day classroom can be found in the below link:

Online Learning: Making the Case
My reflection and what I learned on the video: Online Learning Making the Case
To begin with, I liked the video talked about connecting the students with the rest of the world and that they have more access to the outside world through online learning. I was unaware that there was such a disparity between the availability of specialized teachers, i.e. physics teachers in Georgia and the ratio of schools. It is amazing to think that there can be a teacher in high school available to many other schools and students around the world. I also liked that the video stressed the importance of modernizing the teacher's curricula as well as the curricula taught by the teachers in schools. I learned that there is a higher success rate for students who have online learning than those who don’t. I learned that teachers can be more available to many schools through the internet. Also, I learned that it is more beneficial to have students learn online because they are held more accountable and have more resources than their typical classroom and non-technological curricula.
The Importance of Technology Integration in Today's Classrooms in My Opinion and How I am going to Integrate Technology into my classroom Once I Become a Teacher
It is extremely important that I integrate technology into my classroom. The first reason is because technology is as integrated in our daily routines as much as taking a shower. For example, clothes can be purchased online, we can learn to change car/bike tires from the interent, books can be read online, and music is now purchased mainly through the internet than bought at the stire. In classrooms, the majority of papers and reports are no longer being handwritten in the classroom; they are typed and printed from computers. Secondly, since there is a shortage of teachers and the increased accessibility of information online, students need to be given the proper experience and tools to be able to navigate the internet. Finally, the integration of technology into our school curricula is extremely helpful because it helps present the students with multiple gateways to learning the classroom materials.
As a teacher, I am going to integrate technology into my teaching through having the students learn how to find credible information on their research projects on the internet as well as the school library. Secondly, I think that it would be fun to have the students have e-mail pen pals in other states or countries (I could collaborate with other teachers around the world to do so). By the students having friends around the world, they in turn would learn how to upload pictures, search cultural information, as well as video chat. Lastly, I would encourage the students to further research topics presented in class on the internet and discuss the further learned information in the following class periods.
